New question — a third eligibility state

The studio’s published ladder has three outcomes, not two. The proposal models eligible → cart and ineligible → application. Masterclass with Lewis is invite only — an actor cannot apply at all, they submit a demo for consideration. That state appears in no proposal document and no flow chart. Who issues an invitation, and what an actor sees on a class they can never self-serve into, is undecided.

New question — a second form

“All scene study classes require students to fill out a prerequisite form prior to signing up.” That is a different artifact from the Actors Database form the 24-hour deadline is about. Two forms, two moments, possibly two deadlines — only one of them is in the proposal.

After an open-class purchase, is profile completion untimed (diagram 1: a friendly link in the confirmation email) or on a 24-hour forfeiture clock (diagram 2)? Both diagrams describe this same buyer.

The mock shows the confirmation email exactly as diagram 1 draws it, and the clock exactly as diagram 2 draws it — in view 3, side by side. We would love to know which one is real.

Open question (D1)

Open question (D13) — which processor

Stripe runs the studio today; Helcim is proposed. Either works for us. The one real constraint: saved cards do not move between processors, so if any are stored on Stripe the switch needs sequencing rather than a cutover. D1 (how our fee is collected) cannot be settled before this is.

How does Inrole's per-transaction fee actually reach us — a Helcim split (unconfirmed that it exists), a monthly invoice on transaction count, or something else?

Open question (D5) — disclosure before payment

Diagram 2 says an incomplete profile means the placement is voided and the deposit is lost. If that is the policy, does this checkout screen have to say so before the card is charged — and what is the appeal path?

This screen follows diagram 1: purchase → confirmation email → profile, untimed. Diagram 2 puts the same buyer on a 24-hour clock with the deposit at risk. Which regime governs a new student — and is the other diagram still circulating inside the studio?

Why this engine matters

The prerequisite engine is the craft-protection gate of the whole platform. Whatever it decides has to be deterministic and auditable, and every admin override needs a stored who and why — otherwise "why was I let in / kept out" has no answer.

Where the diagram stops

Flow chart 1 draws DENIED → application form, and then the line ends. The admin decision happens off-screen and no arrow returns an approved applicant to the cart. The next screen shows that gap rather than filling it.

Open question (D12) — the big one

The studio gave us two diagrams describing the same person in the same state: a purchaser without an Actor Database profile. They do not agree.

Below, both regimes are drawn side by side. Neither has been adopted here. If one of these is out of date, the other one is probably still circulating inside the studio — we would love to know which is real.

Diagram 1 — "Prerequisite / eligibility"

Same buyer. Same moment. A timer and a penalty.

This entire screen is a proposal, not a described system. It exists to show what "a human confirms every removal" would look like in practice. The studio has not chosen it.

Alternative under discussion: fully automatic removal and forfeiture at T+24h, with no queue and no human step. We do not recommend it. A penalty applied by a timer, to a paid purchase, possibly to a minor's parent, with no record of who decided, is the weakest position the studio could hold in a dispute.

Who approves a removal, is any of it automatic, was the deposit-forfeiture policy disclosed to the purchaser before payment, and what is the appeal path?

Open question (D14) — forms beyond classes

Dessy asked whether the platform can host additional Airtable-esque forms, and named the real case: coaches booked for 30–90 minutes, mostly by the same students. Honest scope — a few purpose-built forms is quick work and coach bookings are an ideal first one; a build-any-form-yourself tool is a different project. Nothing here is built yet, and the walkthrough should settle which is wanted.

This table would show "synced to Airtable · 2 min ago" — but only if Airtable is still in the picture. Is Airtable being replaced as the source of truth, or kept as the visibility layer over a new system of record? The proposal text says replaced; the studio's own ideal-state diagram still routes the confirmation email through Airtable to the coach view.

Until this is answered, two systems both claim to be the actor database, and the mock will not draw a sync status it cannot honour.

Transferring a student to a different class

The proposal asks for this to be easy. Here it is drawn rather than built — a working button in a mock would teach the wrong lesson.

There is no transfer button in this mock. That is deliberate. A transfer changes enrollment, payment and accounting at the same time, and the edge cases are the product: partial payments, deposits against a different price, mid-round swaps, a coach change in flight. Clicking a button here would suggest the hard part is the interface. It is not.

Transferring a class to a new coach is the same shape of problem, one level up — also drawn rather than built.

A note on what coaches see

ACTRA numbers are masked in this view and résumés open on request rather than sitting on the page. Union identifiers are quasi-credential data; a roster that prints them in full is a roster that leaks them in screenshots. No open decision here — just a default we would propose.
